Replacing cigarettes with a pipe? Let's learn how to clean the pipe so the tobacco will be fresher tasting. Pipe cleaning kits can be bought but why pay the money. If you want to clean your pipe you will need pipe cleaners, a small flat head screw driver and a Ziploc plastic container to hold the old tobacco. Using the flat head screwdriver get all of the old ash out of the pipe chamber and bowl. Be sure you get all of the burnt and unburnt tobacco from the bottom of the pipe bowl. Tape the pipe chamber on your hand to be certain it is clean. Pull the mouthpiece off of the stem of the pipe. Take a white or light colored pipe cleaner and stick it into the stem. The pipe cleaner should go all the way through to the bowl. Twist it around and pull it out. You will probably have a bunch of gook on the pipe cleaner. Insert again and pull the pipe cleaner up back and forth while it is in the stem. This helps clean the stem. Bend a pipe cleaner and stick into the bowl. Rub it around in the bowl, don't forget to go up and down the sides. This should help clean out the bowl of the pipe. To clean the mouthpiece, take another pipe cleaner and stick it into the end of the mouth piece which attaches to the stem. Once again, go up and down with the pipe cleaner. Pipes should be cleaned after every use.
